When children are hurting, they typically are not learning, which is still true even when they are at church. I would be honored to assist the volunteers and staff in your children's ministry, so they can be better equipped to meet the needs of all children. The Trauma Free World curriculum even offers a faith-forward application, showing how neuroscience and the Bible beautifully intersect.

Children with trauma are often more concerned with survival than they are about math or history. When educators understand what is happening in the child's brain as a result of their trauma, and how to connect with that child, then the student can feel safe enough to focus on learning. I would love to teach your staff about the brain science behind trauma-informed care, as well as offer strategies to help them connect with all students and enhance the possibilities for learning.

When parents are experiencing struggle within their home, often the first person they look to for help is their child's medical doctor. Yet many times, those doctors feel just as uncertain as the parents in how to address big trauma behaviors or crisis. Trauma-informed training for your medical office would enhance the holistic care offered to your patients. It also would give you, as the medical professional, a better idea of what local supports to recommend when parents come to you for guidance.
